Haunted Halsted 2026: Breakdown Pickup and Parking

Car trouble near Haunted Halsted on October 31? Call with the exact parking location and any blocked entrance.

October 31 restrictions begin before the parade

Checked October 30, 2026. All times below are Chicago local time. The Northalsted Business Alliance’s official event notice lists parking restrictions from 7 a.m. Saturday, October 31, through 2 a.m. Sunday, November 1. Vehicle traffic restrictions begin at 10:30 a.m. October 31 and have the same listed end time.

The notice covers Halsted between Belmont and Addison, plus specified portions of Melrose, Aldine, Buckingham, Roscoe, Newport, Cornelia and Brompton near Halsted. The organizer warns that parking violators will be towed. Check its full address list and the posted signs for your exact space.

The festival starts at noon and the parade at 7 p.m. Those event times are not the start of the parking restrictions. Recheck the organizer’s notice for updates; this guide describes the 2026 event.

If the car will not start before you need to move it

Call as soon as you discover the problem. Explain whether the vehicle clicks, cranks slowly, cranks normally without starting, has a flat tire or is locked with the keys inside. Mention the posted restriction affecting its location.

Rick’s can discuss roadside assistance options, including suitable jump starts, authorized lockouts, usable-spare installation, regular or premium fuel delivery and mobile battery replacement. The vehicle, available equipment and working access determine the appropriate service.

A service request does not extend a parking deadline or guarantee that the car can be reached or moved before enforcement. Confirm availability and the actual access situation directly.

Give an entrance, not just the event name

For a vehicle in Lake View East near the event area, “by the parade” is not enough to plan a pickup. Have these details ready:

  • The street number, closest intersection and side of the street.
  • Whether the car is at the curb, in a rear lot or inside a garage.
  • The actual lot or alley entrance and any visible barricade or gate.
  • A contact who can provide authorized property access.

For garages, report the height limit, level, ramps, turns and loading room. Describe restrictions from your current location; do not enter a closed area to investigate a route for the truck.

Restricted access can change the towing plan

If the vehicle needs light-duty wheel-lift towing, give its year, make, model, drivetrain and condition. Rick’s uses dollies when appropriate for compatible AWD or 4WD vehicles. Damaged wheels or suspension require an equipment and access assessment.

Rick’s is an independent roadside provider, not the event organizer or parking-enforcement operator. Do not assume a tow truck has permission to cross a closure. Access may need coordination with the people controlling the street or property, and the pickup may have to wait until permitted access is available.

Rick’s is open 24/7 for Lake View East and covered Chicago’s North Side requests. Call to confirm suitability, availability, an arrival estimate and the quote. If towing is appropriate, have the receiving shop’s address and drop-off instructions ready.
